Helping children, teens, and young adults navigate life’s challenges through play therapy, self-discovery, and a collaborative, strengths-based approach.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A), and I have a graduate certificate in play therapy from Capella University. After earning a master’s degree, I went right into studying for play therapy.
I enjoy working with children, teens, college-aged kids, and young adults. I assist clients with depression, anxiety, life transitions, hyperactivity, panic attacks, and more. I help clients see how negative self-talk affects every part of their lives, and I work to put them on the right track to a more positive approach. The client and I work together collaboratively to discover the source of the client’s unhappiness, physical discomfort, or unhealthy behavior. Clinician largely operates from a humanistic approach but may choose an integrative perspective.
I enjoy reading, knitting, and working with my husband on his wood projects. Here is a quote from Garry Landreth that I follow:
“Growth is a slow process, and so is change in behavior.
The therapist must be patient with the process.”
When a person needs to make life changes, it is not easy, but we can do it together!
